Los Angeles, CA – November 25, 2013 – Taylor Swift was the big winner of the night at last night ’s 41st Annual American Music Awards, taking home four trophies, including the evening’s biggest award, Artist of the Year. Taylor also won AMA awards for Favorite Female Artist (Pop/Rock), Favorite Female Artist (Country), and Favorite Album (Country – for RED).

This was Taylor’s third AMA Artist of the Year win -- she also took home the trophy in 2011 and 2009, winning the top award each time she has been nominated. Taylor is the first artist in history to win AMA Artist of the Year three times, and last night’s awards bring her career total AMA wins to 15.Taylor is also Billboard’s 2013 Artist of the Year, and earlier this month she won four CMA Awards, including the prestigious Pinnacle Award (see the presentation here: http://taylorswift.com/news/188413).

Taylor is profiled as “The Biggest Pop Star In The World” on the cover of the November 25th issue of New York magazine (read the article here: http://www.vulture.com/2013/11/taylor-swift-reigning-queen-of-pop.html); she also appears on the November covers of InStyle (US) and Glamour (UK).

Taylor is currently en route to London, where she will perform at Kensington Palace this Tuesday (November 26th) at the Centrepoint Winter Whites Gala. She then travels to Auckland, New Zealand for the November 29th kick-off of the first overseas leg of her blockbuster RED Tour, which Rolling Stone dubbed “a massively excellent show.” Taylor will perform stadium shows in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth, as well as arena dates in Auckland. She is the first solo female artist in twenty years to undertake a national stadium concert tour of Australia, the last being Madonna in 1993.The RED Tour will travel to the UK and Germany in early 2014.

Already this year, Taylor played to 1.3 million fans in sold-out stadiums and arenas across the U.S. and Canada on her RED Tour. Taylor’s album RED, released just over a year ago on Big Machine Records, has sold more than 6 million copies worldwide to date, including more than 1.2 million copies in the U.S. in its first week, scoring the highest first-week sales debut of any album in over a decade. Taylor is the only female artist in music history (and just the fourth artist ever) to twice have an album (2012’s RED and 2010’s Speak Now) hit the 1 million first-week sales figure. With RED, Taylor became the first artist since the Beatles (and the only female artist in history) to log six or more weeks at #1 with three consecutive studio albums.
