Is it Summer Lovin’ for Taylor Swift and political scion Patrick Schwarzenegger?

The big buzz on the interwebs yesterday was that the yee-haa princess, 22, got rather cozy with young Patrick, 18, the son of the Kennedy clan’s Maria Shriver and Arnold Schwarzenegger while visiting the Kennedy Compound over the Fourth of July hols.

The young duo were spotting laughing and walking alone on the beach together, TMZ.com reported. Taylor stayed mum on the possible love match, but at least we know Patrick was having a good time, seeing as he tweeted, “Had such an amazing day. Best 4th of July I could ask for. Hope everyone had a great day!”

There were also photos circling yesterday of the Grammy gal heading out for a sail with the famous family on Ted Kennedy Jr.’s boat Mya, dressed in a bikini and green beach skirt.

Tay-Tay and Patrick also went to the annual Fourth of July parade with the rest of the Kennedy clan and spent the rest of the day at West Beach Club in Hyannis, sailing and hanging out with fam, including Swift’s unlikely BFF Ethel Kennedy. Always the adventurer, Taylor wasn’t afraid to join in with the rambunctious crew; she even played Capture the Flag with the grandkids!

Swift was rumored to be renting a haute home in Hyannisport, fitted with a circular driveway and gated entrance out front. But we’re guessing she wasn’t alone, because her crew of besties, including “Glee” starlet Dianna Agron and longtime friend Claire Winter, were also spotted with the singer over the holiday. In fact, the crew rolled around the docks of the Hyannis Port Yacht Club with saucy senior citizen Ethel at the wheel of a golf cart!

It seems Taylor isn’t the only young lady that’s taken with the Kennedy matriarch. Ethel’s granddaughter Kerry Townsend (her mom is Kathleen Kennedy Townsend) tweeted, “Arrived at my Grandma’s house to find her chilling with Taylor Swift and Dianna Agron. I hope I’m this cool when I’m 83!”

So here’s the question on everybody’s minds: How did Taylor and Patrick get hooked up? We’re betting it has something to do with filmmaker Rory Kennedy, who told ABC News that she first met Swift while accompanying her daughters to one of her concerts.

“She really just loves my mother which is so sweet,” Rory told ABC. “I’m a huge fan of hers, I have young girls and we had been to a few of her concerts. I met with her at one of them and she had read a ton of books about our family. She was inspired and wrote a song.”

Natch.

Back in January, Taylor was invited by Rory to join the crew in Park City, Utah, at the Sundance Film Festival. She was photographed on the red carpet with Ethel and Rory Kennedy at the premiere of Rory’s documentary, “Ethel.”

At Sundance, Swift told Fox411, “The only time in my life I have ever been star-struck was meeting Caroline and Ethel Kennedy.”
