Hey guys! I'm Kristen Danielle and I'm 24 years old. My birthday is Valentine's Day and that's a fact that I love. I am a proud believer in Jesus Christ and would love to find some fellow Christians here on Taylor's site. I am from the United States of America and seeing as how I'm from the south (Louisiana), I love good food, Coca-Cola, screened in porches with old rocking chairs, and GUNS. I am about to buy my very own .38 special when Christmas time rolls around. The next thing you should know about me is that I am straightedge, which means that I have never had an alcoholic beverage, a cigarette, or a non-prescription drug in my life. I have also made a vow with the LORD as part of my being straightedge that I would not have sex before I got married. I intend to earn the right to wear white (which was originally meant to represent the bride's purity) on my wedding day. Though I am a huge Taylor Swift fan, I grew up in the era before each group of fans had their own names such as "beliebers," "little monsters," and "swifties." Therefore, I don't refer to myself as a "swiftie." I'm just a Taylor fan. I am also a HUGE Garth Brooks fan, even more so than Taylor, but don't fret, there's a reason for this which I will be happy to explain to anyone who is interested enough to ask. I write novels, play video games, and am currently battling a severe illness in which several joints in my spine became compacted as a result of me hitting a light pole at 40 mph and totaling my car back in 2011. Because of these compacted joints, I cannot stand up for more than five minutes at a time, so it basically has me completely bedridden. My computer is all I have-- my only link to the outside world (which is one of the reasons I signed up here at Taylor Connect-- so I could meet people). That's about all there is to know about me, but I'd like to also tell you about what I do for a living. I am a professional pastel artist and all of the links in my profile's link section go to my business page on each of the listed social media sites. I have written my basic business information below.
Custom Pastel by Kristen Carrier is a Limited Liability Company and in addition to the prints that are for sale on my deviantART account (which is in my links to the left), I also draw custom originals for anyone who is interested (perhaps something Taylor-related?). This is how I make most of my money with my business. My standard size is 22 x 30 inches, but I will do half sizes (11 x 15 inches) or something in between upon request to help get the price down if needed. I offer three styles of pastel work. The first is my full color style and those pieces are highly detailed reproductions of photos that require more than five different colors of pastel to produce.
This style costs $300 for full size or $170 for half size.
My monochromatic style is done in much the same way, but those pieces use four or fewer different shades from one color family.
This style costs $200 for full size or $110 for half size.
Lastly, my silhouettes are pieces in which the figures are solid black and are lit from behind with a color of the customer's choice.
This style costs $100 for full size or $60 for half size.
If you would like something in between full and half size, please private mail me. For these in-between sizes, the price will reflect the size. I am negotiable and will always try to assist my clients in choosing a size that suits their home and their budget, so if you are not entirely sure what you're looking for, just leave as much information as you have in your mail. Please be aware that I am not a portrait artist, so if you would like your pastel to be of a person, they will need to be in profile and/or slightly silhouetted (like Taylor on the cover of the regular edition of the RED album). I accept cash by mail, money orders, and personal checks for my custom pastel originals and you will need to count on the added cost of framing, shipping, and any customs charges when you are thinking about making a purchase.
For my prints, you should be aware that not every print I offer is pastel. Two are oil on canvas, one is pencil, and one is watercolor. I do not offer these three mediums as custom originals. They are simply art that I have drawn in the past that I decided to offer as prints. I'd like to thank you for reading all of this as I know your time is valuable. You can see my website for even more information. God bless.
This story starts way back when I was only one year old. Garth Brooks released his first album, which was the self-titled one "Garth Brooks," in 1989 and I was born in 1988. His first single was called "Much Too Young (To Feel This **** Old)" and since I was so young back then, I don't remember if that was the first song of his I ever heard, but it was either that one or "If Tomorrow Never...
