I'm Kayla June, but you can call me Kayla if you want. I'm 14, I write songs, I love music. And I hope to be a musician when I grow up. I've wanted to be one since, pretty much ever. I've always tried to convince myself to be something more practical, but no matter what it always came back to music. I write country music, not because of Taylor (she's a big part of it though). All my life I've liked country music, and Taylor's the reason I've finally started chasing my dreams. So, thank you Taylor :] I play piano and 6-string. Just starting 12-string. I hope to learn the banjo next, I've always loved the banjo. It adds zazzle to songs. I write about life, love and growing up. Growing up seems to be my main topic right now. Its a hard thing you know? I think its mostly hard trying to find the right rate to grow at for yourself. Everyone tries to do it faster than they should, but I never have. I never longed for adulthood as a child. Which I think is good, only a little part of your life you get that innocence, cherish it for as long as you can. Love is also a topic used a lot, but love is quite frankly a very fun topic to write. Especially when you're feeling it. I write about more than just love and growing up, as I've said life itself is pretty neat. Friends, bullies, good days, bad days. All of it is great to write to about. I have a lot of tunes in my head. I can go a month writing 5 songs a day then a month writing none. I try never to stress about it, because in my opinion you can't force a song. It just comes to you. Whether you're in the middle of class, middle of eating, sitting on your bed, in the shower, or even about to go to bed. It comes when it comes.
I started piano when I was three. I'd play by ear, songs I came up with. Weren't too bad for a three year old. Finally at the age of 6 I took piano lessons, which were too easy. Piano is wonderful, I don't play it as much as guitar though. I've been playing guitar since I was 12, and it was a really rainy day when we went to music store to get it. The guy there taught me the G chord. I don't own a 12-string yet, but if I see one I play it. I've done lots of research on it, and I'm hoping to get one soon.
I think I kind of have a pessimistic look on life, but also strangely optimistic. It depends. As far as my music goes, I try to be realistic about it. I know it'll take work and I know it'll be hard but I can do it. I have faith I'll someday have a record deal. And I hope with all my heart I can accomplish all I dream of doing. I want to be finished with high school by next year, I'm homeschooled and in 9th grade. I will be doing 10th grade over the summer and 11th and 12th next year. I know I can do it, I just have to spend a lot of sleepless nights doing schoolwork.
I have one best friend, she is the greatest friend. I haven't told her I wanted to pursue music, but I know she will definitely support me. I have two regular friends. They're brother and sister and I'm more friends with the brother than the sister. The sister is partly acquaintance partly friend. So I guess I have two friends. Making friends isn't easy for me, but I don't think anyone can have too many friends. As long as they are real, true friends that love you.
I'm extremely shy. I have socially anxiety, very minor, usually just until I get used to a person or place. So if you ever tell me to PM you if I wanna talk in an act of kindness, I'm not declining your offer or being rude, I'm just too shy. I'd love to make friends with some of you though :] So far I don't have a friend on here, and nobody has talked to me for more than 10 minutes. I'm not sure why, so I don't know.. If you do however want to try and make friends with me, then I'll list my interests we might have in common. My favorite shows are Doctor Who, The Walking Dead, New Girl, The X-files, How I Met Your Mother, and The Office. My favorite artists are Taylor Swift and Florence + the Machine. I don't play sports, but I do however love watching hockey. Detroit Red Wings! I would like to play baseball, I'm a good throw and catch. Aaaaand, I don't know what else to put. If I seem interesting then by all means, talk to me!
I figured I should give you an idea of what I look like. Because I personally would like some of idea of who the stranger I'm talking to on the internet looks like. I'm kind of tall, standing almost 5'5" tall, I have long legs. My legs are a yard long. I'm very thin, weighing in at 85lbs. I don't have an eating disorder, I love food and I eat tons of it. My metabolism must be extremely fast... I have strawberry blonde hair, some classify me as a redhead some classify me as a blonde. I have curly hair, I usually just keep it wavy though due to frizz. I have bangs, I cut themself. They are really nice, one side is kind of awkward though. You can't tell, but me and my OCD can and it drives me nuts! I don't trust anyone else to cut it though. I'm pale with a few freckles. I have very faint groups on the side of cheeks, but they aren't noticeable unless you're close to me. My feet are also very tiny, I wear a 4 children's D:
I love Taylor Swift. I would hear Tim McGraw on the radio when I was little, not knowing it was her. When the Our Song video was released I'd watch it constantly. Then Fearless came out and my sister played it all the time I would listen to it, I didn't know it was her but I was always really glad when she turned it on. Then Speak Now came out and I became fully obsessed. That is my favorite album by her and truly her best work yet. I finally have some Taylor Swift posters, although they're RED posters and I'd prefer some from her older albums (I like those more, no offense to RED). I hope to see her in concert someday, whenever she comes near me. She has inspired me a lot in life, and I if I ever met her I'd probably be telling her all she has done for me through tears of joy.
I have five pets. Two cats, two dogs, and a turtle. I started out this year with eight pets, four cats, three dogs, and a turtle. Our oldest dog Pete died, he was 16 and lived a long, wonderful life, so I wasn't too sad about his death. The second death was of my 6 month kitten Alphie, he was hit my a car on Valentine's Day. I got him August 23rd, 2012 at only two weeks, he was found bloody walking down the side of the road. Someone saw him and called out to him and ran right over. He was sweet cat, and its a shame the person didn't care of enough to look where they were going. The last death was of our three year old cat Dott. She's been battling leukemia since she was 7 months of old, after the loss of her litter of 5, and it finally took her. So now we have our two cats Archibald (who is called Archie) and our old cat Kitty, whom we got when I was 4. She was my first cat ever. Then there's my two dogs, Max and Lola, Max we got as a puppy and was the first puppy I ever had the privilege to raise. Then there's my turtle Rudy, she just popped up on my front porch one day. Truly the cutest turtle that ever lived.
So now you know all about my pets! I love my pets dearly, so I felt I needed to introduce them to you all.
Well I'm done rambling. I hope to make friends with some of you guys, you guys are all truly nice people.
