Music Blog #15: John Nathaniel

Canada is probably the world's best kept secret, musically speaking. Considering its tiny population, I sometimes get the impression that every Canadian not in a band is a solo singer - and most of them are very talented musicians indeed!

Yet at any one time Canada seems to produce one or two famous artists while a whole ton of others who are at least as good as their more famous cousins languish in obscurity.

Why the world does not pay a lot more attention to Canadian music, I do not know.

Even in so vibrant a music scene as Canada's, however, there are a number of talents who truly stand out. The subject of today's blog is one such: singer/songwriter/instrumentalist John Nathaniel.

With a terrific voice, an original sound and a very obvious connection to his audience, it is hard to see why John is not a major star. But don't take my word for it - give him a listen:

Guy who can sing like that deserves international recognition, doesn't he?
