A couple days ago, I was walking in my Backyard with a friend and we were just talking and then we came across one of my bushes. I didn't think anything of it until I saw this HUGE spider! Like, seriously, it had to as long as my middle finger and as wide as three of my fingers. I have no idea that spiders got that big in Michigan. I ran inside, my friend at my heels, got my camera, took a picture, and showed my mom. She thought i was "cool". Once my dad got home, we told him all about it and he didn't do anything. Yesterday, we looked up on Google "Black and yellow spider Michigan" and it turns out it's a garden spider. yay. We did the research and garden spiders are very strong, and their webs are harder to break then steel! They're venomness but it can't hurt humans, but is painful. So i'm kinda scared to go in my backyard ever again. Here's a picture of a garden spider, in case you wanted to know...

Thanks for reading this insanely long blog:)

Kinda scary lookin!! Looks like something to catch, then take out and let go somewhere much further away from my backyard. But the one good thing about a spider like that is, it will eat a lot of other insects in your yard!! I'd watch its movements and monitor it. I did that with a "Wood Spider" awhile back outside my bathroom window. He was cool!!
