I coach varsity boys basketball, take care of parks, and I sub during the fall and the winter. I watch football, war movies, and I can admit I also like a couple chic flicks.
All that and I am a Tay Swift fan. I think too many guys get down on themselves because the over masculine need to seem "tough." Well tough can be determined by what kind of foods you can eat or how you handle pain or even how you handle stress. It can also be judged by your determination and your ability to handle painful situations.
There is no manual for handling those situations and I'm not too much of a reader anyways, but Taylor Swift seems to know just about the most on this subject and can relate and make you feel ok about feeling that pain.
She speaks to me and my situations and that is why she is awesome. It started with Tim McgGraw, her first single. When I heard it for the first time, I was 26, a little down at the time, and just feeling lonely. Heard it. Reminded me of my high school girlfriend.
It didn't erase anything or wipe anything away, but it made me feel ok to feel like I did because I had something great with the causes of both the feelings old and new. She understood me from her first track more than most of my extended family.
Also, she is an actual good person. Something rarely found in the celebrity world. She treats her fans amazing and strives to be a good role model. For that alone we should be thankful for her presence in our younger generations lives.
Plus, in the wise words of Brad Paisley, I'm still a guy. She is freaking gorgeous.
