T-Party August 2, 2011
Alright!!!! So I had the wonderful honor of being invited to the T-Party for a second time. My friends and I had neon, blinking light-up shirts that spelled out "TAY" with a heart at the end, and reversible, obnoxiously glittery signs that said "SPEAK NOW" (in the SN font!) on one side and "T-PARTY?"on the other. When we first got to our seats and sat down (Section 101, Row S), I honestly didn't think we had a chance of getting T-Party because so many other people had light-up signs and stuff. But then after the lights went down for Hunter Hayes, I realized that even though you could see the lights, you couldn't read the signs AT ALL. Plus, a million and one people had Christmas lights around a poster and our lights were a lot different. So I felt a lot better. Basically after needtobreathe, we all stood up and held our posters after I spotted two girls wearing black, holding a manilla envelope and looking around the crowd. We were literally SCREAMING and singing along to the music that was playing in the stadium, and they kept looking and smiling and pointing at us. So after that I felt AMAZING. And so many people were taking pictures of our signs/shirts, and we got so many compliments!
Taylor came on (SPARKS FLY!!!!!) and we all started freaking out and having the time of our lives, forgetting our posters and hoping that just our shirts would get us T-Party. After ONE SONG, aka at the beginning of Mine, one of the girls we saw at the beginning came to our row and invited us to the T-Party!!!!!!!!!! We all started freaking out and screaming and shaking and hugging each other. I had no idea that we would get invited that early, and it felt amazing not to have to worry about it the whole concert and just have fun. :)
After the concert we met in section 108, were told the rules and were led backstage to the T-Party room! it was so much better than it was last year, I think. There were dresses and a photo booth and her shoes/boots and the giant teddy bear from Valentine's Day. We ran around like maniacs taking pictures with everything, and before you knew it Taylor came in!
She was wearing this white shirt with a cat face on it, a pink tutu-like skirt, and glittery ballet flats. It was so adorable and SO Taylor. :) When Taylor was with other groups, Grant came and talked to us! He let us smell and spray Wonderstruck (IT SMELLS AMAZING omg I want it), gave us guitar picks, and our friend talked to him for like five minutes about how they have the same last name haha. Then IT WAS OUR TURN :)
Taylor came over and gave us all hugs, and commented on how "glowy" we were haha. We talked for a LONG time, a lot longer than we did last time! She said she could see our shirts from the stage, which felt amazing. :) We were talking about Wonderstruck and how good it smelled, and she started talking about how they just filmed a commercial for it in New York. She was "running in a ball gown" and it was "SO PRETTY!" and she used all of these dramatic hand movements to describe the commercial haha. I'm so excited to see it!!!! We took our picture, and then she signed all of our pictures that we printed out just in case; when she signed Emily's, she signed right over her face and looked at it dumbfounded and was like, "Oh my god, WHY did I just sign over my face? I have no idea why I just did that" it was so cute omg. Then I told her that I was going again the next night with my mommy for Mother's Day, and she asked me if Mother's Day already passed or not - she was legitimately scared that she had forgotten it. She was like, "I would be the person to forget that" haha. Then the girl who took our picture said Taylor had to move on, so she said goodbye and skipped away and it was magical and so amazing. So much better than last time, for sure. :')
We got to hang out when Taylor was with the other groups, and got to meet Caitlin! She was holding pizza in her hand, and gave us all hugs ("Did you know that the average amount of hugs a person needs every day is 13? Seriously, it actually averages out to that!") We asked her what lyrics were on Taylor's arm because we forgot to ask Taylor, and it was from Keith Urban "Stupid Boy" - I guess to build yourself up so high You had to take her and break her down. We told her that we just saw him last week at the Verizon Center, and Caitlin told us that she got to do a few songs with him and John Mayer on Crossroads. Apparently she was freaking out the entire time because she's such fans of both of them haha. Then we took a picture together and when we were taking it Taylor left, and Caitlin shouted to Grant "OH GRANT WE HAVE TO GO!" (To the Lincoln Memorial? haha) and we all were escorted out.
It was seriously the most wonderful and magical experience of my life. I feel so so so so lucky and blessed to have been invited twice. And to top it all off, I'm going to be meeting Taylor again in a few weeks at the iHeartRadio Festival. I seriously feel like the luckiest, happiest girl alive right now.
