Taylor Swift

Hello, I'm Kathy and I'm a proud Swifty, fashion geek, figure skater, writer, and overall weirdo. I am incredibly stubborn, I can talk your ear off, and I like to be taken seriously. I live in a lovely state named Maryland on the East Coast of the USA, and I find it very pleasant here. I've only traveled to a handful of countries in the past, but I am someone who desperately wants to see the world.

A very weird habit of mine is keeping tabs on every red carpet/special event outfit of Taylor's, which means that I can pretty much look at a dress she has worn and identify what year, designer, and occasion she wore it. It's not entirely a conscious habit, I just have a good memory when it comes to these things and they stick in my brain because it's the sort of stuff I care about.

I hope someday I will get to learn to play the mandolin. I'm not entirely sure why, other than that I've seen YouTube covers of Taylor's songs performed on mandolin, and it looked and sounded so amazing. It's not a very popular instrument, but it is so cool and interesting, not to mention it has a very bluegrass-y, home-grown vibe.

Besides Taylor, I like the music of Carrie Underwood, Martina McBride, Alanis Morissette, Train, Katy Perry, Kellie Pickler, One Direction and Coldplay. Of course, my interest in them is all relative. I may listen to these artists/groups quite often, but there is still a huge gap between them and Taylor in my mind. She is my absolute favorite artist by a LONG strech, and I love not only her music but also her personality and sense of style.

My dream is to go to Parsons The New School for Design, arguably the best design school in the entire United States. As you can probably guess, I want to be a fashion designer when I grow up, which explains my obsession with dresses, Fashion Week, runway photos, models, and of course, magazines. (Those neat little perfume samples don't hurt, either.) My favorite designers are Chanel, Elie Saab, Marc Jacobs, J. Mendel, Prada, Marchesa, Alexander McQueen and Jason Wu. If I ever got to attend one of their shows, even if I sat in the very back row, I would probably faint.

I am relatively lazy, and I don't always reach out to people even when I have the perfect opportunity, but when I am put in a position in which I can help others, I always take such joy in what I accomplish in the end. This ranges from giving hopeful--and helpful--advice to volunteering for those who need assistance.
