This song is my favourite song by Taylor. I don't know why. Maybe because it is for the fans. But all i know is the first time i ever heard this song, i fell in love with it. It can make me smile when i am sad, and never fails to make me happy. My fav line would have to be "A band of thieves in ripped up jeans got to rule the world". I loved how on her last 2 shows of the Speak Now tour she wrote lyrics to this song down her arm.

    I love long live! especially the live version, every time i hear it, it makes me sad cause its near the end of the show, and i know when i see Taylor in March and i hear Long Live il love and hate (cause it signals the end) it at the same time lol

    Personally, "Long Live" is one of my favorite songs by Taylor. In my opinion, I kind of feel like it's a second part to "Change." Like, "Change" was about how things were going to be different and they would get better, and "Long Live" is looking back on everything and breathing a sigh of relief that you finally did it, and I love that. "Long Live" is such a happy song, and it will forever be one of my favorites. :)

    The very first time I heard it I got chills down my spine (the good type) and it's always had a special place in my heart! It's probably because it's basically Taylor telling us how much she loves and appreciates us. And I can relate to it in several ways, and songs that I relate to always feel really special to me.

    Long Live...it reminds me of my classmates and I. We've all been through so much, and yet here we are, this band of thieves who are (almost) all living our dreams. I'm planning on asking to sing a totally acoustic version of Long Live at our graduation ceremony at the end of the year. As I mentioned in another post, something very bizarre happened to me and I just think of the line "And the cynics were outraged/screaming 'this is obsurd!' Cause for a moment a band of thieves in ripped-up jeans got to rule the world!". And think of my friends, and how we all fight for each other and fight the cynics of the world.

    Ok I know on the Speak Now tour she said that this was written during the Fearless Tour after the shows but does anyone else think she wrote it the night she won EOTY? That seems to fit the lyrics a lot more in my opinion.

    I really LOVE Long Live, it used to be my favourite song for like a year, now I can't choose, but it's still one I listen to a lot. I love how she's sooooo happy and excited in the song!!
