    I think the idea is that if your show isn't going on sale until after Christmas but you want to give tickets as a gift, you can give the person this coupon as an "I owe you" type thing.

    Just make sure that if you give the coupon as a gift that you actually *get* the tickets!

    It's the thought that counts, but it would be a disappointment to get the coupon, get all excited, and then not be able to get tickets!

    This would be a cute surprise for Christmas if the tickets haven't arrived yet. I'm not sure if I would just give it without having purchased tickets, though, as there's no guarantee you'll be able to get them when they go on sale. That would be an incredible disappointment.
