Ticket Purchasing FAQ
We've been getting a lot of the same questions regarding tickets & ticket sales. I thought maybe I could make a thread that could be helpful to all. I know first hand purchasing Taylor tickets can be stressful & overwhelming!! If you have any questions that I don't cover, feel free to ask. Hopefully one of us can get an answer for you & I'll update this thread.
Can I buy a M&G?
First of all I just want to say that M&G aren't for sale! If you see a M&G for sale please alert one of the moderators. Occasionally there COULD be one for a charity fundraiser, etc. but in general they aren't sold. If you aren't sure contact one of the moderators & we can verify if it's legitimate or not!
Where do I see the full list of concert dates?
Check back often to taylorswift.com. They frequently update the events page. You can also go directly to events if you follow this link: [url=http://taylorswift.com/events]http://taylorswift.com/events
How do I know if my show is on sale?
Ideally you will receive an e-mail with pre-sale info before your show goes on sale. Obviously that doesn't happen 100% of the time. I would personally recommend signing up for events e-mails from your local venues. Here is a LINK to the "Taylor Swift" search on Ticketmaster. Not all events are sold on Ticketmaster, but the majority are at this time. If your venue typically sells their event tickets through Ticketmaster & you can't even find that event listed yet, then chances are the tickets aren't on sale yet. Also, you can check back on this section in the forum & read through the thread about your show for details!
How do I sign up for pre-sale codes?
Ashlee posted a thread HERE on how to make sure you update your information so that you'll receive the appropriate updates!
What is the VIP tickets and is that the only way to purchase the best seats?
You can find the full info on the VIP tickets HERE. If you purchase VIP you are absolutely ensured a really great seat, but that is definitely not the only way to obtain a great seat!
If a pre-sale sells out does that mean there are no tickets left for general sale?
NO! Pre-sales only set aside a certain percentage of tickets. If you don't find the seats you're looking for through the presale, try again the day of general sale!
What is the best way to purchase tickets?
I can't say there's one correct answer for this. I've personally purchased tickets various ways and been both successful & unsuccessful different times.
*Venue: If you are able to go to your venue the day of general sale you can sometimes get great seats & get around some of the fees.
*Call: Calling Ticketmaster (if it's a TM venue) is an option: 1-800-745-3000 Sometimes it's possible to get through, sometimes it's not.
*Phone App: The TM app on smart phone seems to work very well as long as you don't click out of the app until your purchase is complete (or the tickets are lost.)
*Computer: If you want to purchase from a computer be sure to have it ready to go & logged on before tickets go on sale. If you want several minutes in chances are most of the seats may be gone. If you give up too many tickets within a short period of time you may be locked out. This can take hours or even days before it resets.
What if I'm not pulling up any seats?
If you are on the ticket site right when tickets go on sale & you don't pull up any seats keep trying. I've had shows where I've tried for a solid hour and THEN pulled up a seat. What happens is people will pull up a seat & hold it for a few minutes, then put it back. Once it's back up for grabs then someone else has a chance. Don't give up 2 minutes in and think every ticket is sold out. That may not be the case! One day I even randomly tried two hours in and pulled up a decent seat!
If tickets all sell out what should I do?
The best advice I can give you if tickets sell out is to keep checking back on the ticket purchasing site & also with the venue. Most venues will add more seats the day of the show or a few days before. They're typically very good seats! We do allow users on here to post if they have extra tickets they would like to sell for FACE VALUE! TC cannot regulate or be responsible for any of those sales. Enter contests on your local radio station. Keep checking the tour page for additional shows! Sometimes if a date sells out quickly they'll add another for that city!
Extra tips:
*The less seats you try to pull together the better. Of course everyone would love to sit together, but it's extremely difficult to pull up 4 really good seats together at a show that's this high in demand!
*Set aside a block of time. Don't expect to spend 3 minutes & have wonderful seats & be done.
*Familiarize yourself with the seating chart ahead of time.
*Come up with a plan beforehand. Know ahead of time if you pull a seat in this particular section whether you'll keep it or toss it back.
*Be flexible!! Of course we would all love to see the show from the front row, but you have to have realistic expectations. I've seen Taylor from a lot of different seats in different sections. It's a different experience no matter where you sit & I've never walked away thinking "Well I sure didn't enjoy that show because I hated my seat!"
*Have your payment information up to date. I've actually lost good seats before because I couldn't get my credit card up to date fast enough in the system!
*T-Party is not a ticketed, for sale event
