SONGWRITING SWIFTIES CONTEST
Welcome to the Songwriting Swifties Contest! I'm glad you decided to come and check it out. :) Like many Swifties on TC, I LOVE writing songs. I have some experience with songwriting, so I thought that I should finally start a contest on here! I love reading your songs, so don't be afraid to enter!
RULES AND PROCEDURE
1) PLEASE, NO STEALING SONGS FROM OTHER WRITERS.
2) Only one entry per round, please.
3) There will be 10 rounds. Each round must have at least 3 entries. If there are less than 3 entries, the date will be extended.
4) Poetry is allowed.
5) Post your entries on this page. If there are any problems or technical difficulties, then you may send your entry in a PM.
6) Each round will last 3-4 days. (It depends on how busy I am.)
7) If you are entering a song, please enter in a "lyric" format and show where your verses, pre-choruses (if applicable), chorus, and bridge are.
8) Artist Statement: If you would like to, please explain what your song is about in an Artist Statement. You can include what the inspiration was, explain certain lines in the song, etc. This is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for it gives be a better picture of what your song is about.
9) There will be a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place winner. Just added: Wild Card! (Most relatable, best lyric, runner up, etc)
10) You can enter songs that you have entered in other songwriting contests, but you may not enter the same song in different rounds in this contest.
11) If you would like a prize button/graphic for winning 1st, 2nd, or 3rd Place, I can make you one. (Except they probably won't be very good, haha :p) Please let me know if you would like one or else I will not make you one.
12) Please respect my decisions for which songs I choose to be winners. I will judge on originality, the quality of the lyrics, or if I really like it. :)
13) Each round has a theme or no theme.
14) Please no cussing or inappropriate topics or themes in songs.
15) Entries may still be accepted on the day after the deadline as long as they are posted BEFORE I start typing/post the results or before I say that the round is officially closed.
16) Like many other contests on here, we will be using points. 1st place: 3 points. 2nd place: 2 points. 3rd place: 1 point. There are no points for winning Wild Card. Depending on the response this contest gets, the top 3 contestants with the most points after all of the 10 rounds will compete in a bonus round.

WINNER'S ROUND RESULTS
This blows my mind. I can't believe we are already to the end of the Songwriting Swifties Contest! For this round we had amazing entries from these contestants: rawkstar498, fishie, TheFearless, and Gigi. Voting started several weeks ago. We only got 10 votes, and it's not that much, but a vote is a vote! The results were SO close! Two people were in battle for the Ultimate Songwriting Swiftie, and in the end, they were only one vote apart! Drumroll please...
And the Ultimate Songwriting Swiftie is...
Gigi! Her song, "Curtain Of My Life," won the Songwriting Swifties Contest! Congratulations!

The reason this song was so unique was because of its use of imagery! That's definitely a good thing to have on a song. :) These were my favorite lyrics:

My entry! :)
Explantation: Yesterday my teacher Dutch told us about this fourteen-year-old boy he was a teacher of six years ago. The tricky thing: the boy had leukaemia, a form of cancer. He went to the hospital a lot and did many things for the pour boy. Sadly he died. You could see it had really impacted him. And so did the story impact me. I always use deep feeling to write, it's my outlet. so I wrote this song "knock you down" about how it would feel like to be a teacher or a friend of someone with cancer. Verse 1 and verse 2 and the chorus are about wanting the person to fight, because you don't wanna lose them. The bridge speaks for itself and the last chorus is about knowing that it's better like that.

I don't really know how to explain this, haha, the song is pretty self-explanatory to be honest. But basically, my whole life I've been completely natural, I never wear makeup, I have curly hair, never dyed it, etc. and for some reason I get judged because of it. And I somehow came up with this song!

Its basically about this boy at school who is always trying to bring me down to make himself look good. The song is saying how he used to upset me with his comments but now I don't care and I just ignore him and he doesn't bring me down now, so the joke is on him.

Song Explanation: I really liked this guy in my grade who was part of the "popular" group (I'm soooo not) and I thought I could convince him to like me back, but instead he just kept making fun of me (even to my face) with his friends, as I sat there dreaming about him. Finally my friends talked me out of it and I realized after 3 years of me not-so-subtly dropping hints that he was sooooo not worth it. So, I wrote a song about it and now I like another guy. (He's part of the "popular" group too!) What is it with me and "popular" boys??? Well they make for great songs!!!! ;)
