"I can see the two girls in the pit who I first met in the UK"
So, I've been probably one of the luckiest Taylor Swift fans these past few years. I've had the incredible experiences of meeting Miss Taylor 4 times and seeing her live 9. I didnt want to write 4 seperate meet and greet stories so I will just post them all into one and I'll dodge around some details because it might get boring otherwise. :)
23rd November 2009, London Wembley Arena.
The first time I met Taylor I was 15. It was at my 2nd concert and I had entered a competition to win a meet and greet. Its funny though, I actualy didnt win the competition the first time around. Another girl did. In a nutshel you had to promote artists to win points. I got 800 points, another girl got 1400. I was new to the website & didn't know what I was doing, but never the less heartbroken that I had lost. However, the girl chose for her meet and greet to be at the Manchester show on the 24th, meaning they still had two passes for the London show up for grabs. I genuinely skipped out on doing school work, coursework, you name it, I gave it up. I ended up getting 15000 points, the record amount of points anybody had ever gotten on the site. They told me I had won 3 days before the competition actualy closed because there was no way anyone could catch me up. I'd like to call it all fate. :) Basically, the day rolled around and we did a little promotion of the new album (Fearless Platinum) outside the venue with the competition company, which was fun. Then we went inside and were led to the room Taylor was in. A simple room, with a black backdrop and a queue of maybe 50 people. When it was our turn I stumbled up to Taylor with my hands over my mouth, completely shaking. She gave me a massive hug and said "HEY GIRL!". I'll always remember her elated face. My friend and I talked about the gifts we had made her; I had made her a book of messages from fans and sprayed it with 'winter spray' because it was right after SNL came out and linked with 'things that smell like winter' line. I also gave her a pegasus necklace and she started jumping up and down and ran over to Erica & and showed her and smelled it and kept hugging me and telling me that I knew her so well. Liezl, my best friend spoke to Taylor for a bit, we got our picture, she signed our pictures and then spoke to her about the first time we had seen her. We hugged again, all the while I have been shaking the whole time & said our goodbyes. She said that she would see us out there (and she did, I know for a fact but thats another story.) As we got our bags she was looking and beaming at us and I just burst into tears and said that I loved her, to which she replied that she loved me so much and gave me another hug. We walked out the room and cried so much it was hilarious. :)
14th November 2010, Radio 1 Teen Awards.
This time, one year later I had established myself with some great Taylor fan friends. This was the second time we had all met as a group and the first time a few of us met each other. I'll skip the show, because as we know, it was incredible. This was the 3rd time I had seen Taylor. We ran out after her performance and it was raining, so very very hard. About 30 minutes later, Andrea and Robert came out & we all freeked out, and got pictures and chatted for a little bit. They gave us the new guitar pics (new at the time) and the speak now bracelets! This was the first time I had met Andrea so I was exstatic. I honestly had no clue what was about to happen so meeting Andrea made my world. Then the gate opened, and a car came out. We could see Taylors hair in the back and we just waved and blew kisses and what not. Then the car stopped and the door flew open. I'm not kidding when I say I went into hysterics. I've never ever cried that much in my life. Taylor walked up and seemed genuinely concerned. She gave me a huge, huge hug and said "Hey girl! Thank you so much for coming out" I said "I love you so much, you've changed my life" & handed her my camera to which she took the picture. It was freezing out, I mean freezing and it was pooring. Taylor moved along to the other few girls who were here, whilst I was still sobbing. Andrea filmed me crying my eyes out on Taylors iphone, which scares me a tad haha. Then another guy came over, I don't know his name but I've seen him around a bunch of times and asked me if I was really ok? I said I was and just happy and he handed me a million guitar pics. This was the most unexpected day of my life and just shows Taylors kind heart. :)
29th March 2011, Manchester MEN Arena.
This was the 2nd Speak Now show I went to and the 5th time seeing Taylor in general. We didnt know until the day that we had meet and greets and for the tour we had decided to go in crazy costumes for each show, all home made and all different and original. Today, was 'Peter Pan: the boy who NEVER GREW UP.'. Our banners read 'come with us and you'll never grow up'. We looked pretty great, im not even going to lie. Long story short, we went into the meet and greet, which turned out to be in the Tparty room, which freeked me out because I knew I would never get Tparty because i'd already met Taylor so I would never lie about that. So, with this being a meet and greet I was shocked and so so excited to actualy see the room. Though a downsized version for the MEN arena, that didnt bother me. I was happy. We walked up to Taylor who immediatly doubled over laughing & said, or rather shouted through laughter "Not only, not only did you guys choose a B side accoustic track, you made it so original and totally your own. I love you guys so much!". She hugged us all and then we talked about our costumes, the fact Steph and I were coming to see her in Nashville to which she was so excited about and hugged us both and told us about the new concept of the show. We got our picture, I told her about the suprise for Paul that Liezl and I had the next day and to look at the front row of the London show. (We dressed up as KISS the band with a banner saying 'Last Kiss' with the KISS logo). She was intregued and said she would and she would tell Paul cause he loves suprises! Phoebe and Sasha also spoke to taylor for a bit too. Lauren ushered us out & I ran back and hugged Taylor again. Her final words were 'Ill see you in Nashville!". That you would Taylor, that you would! (I've missed so much out of this specific story, it was honestly the longest meet and greet probably ever haha, Lauren actualy had to stop taylor from starting up new topics of conversation and the amount of hugs included was hilarious!)
September 16th, Bridgestone Arena. Nashville TN.
Well this day was the best day of my whole entire life. WHOLE entire life. This is the day that gets me through that bad moments. We met basically the entire band this day, whether it be before, after or during the concert (during the support acts Mike & Britney, Paul & Ashley, Kara (amos' wife)& David came to see me and Steph). We met Amos and Danny, Liz, Claire & the other dancers earlier in the day & I had met Grant as well as Claire at the Script concert as they were sitting a few rows infront of me so I spent the interval with them. It was a shame I never got to meet Caitlin and Al though, however I had met Al before and I met Caitlin finally in New York a few months later as well as everybody else. It was incredible because the band all knew my name and new me well. It was actualy overwhelming. Anyway, we knew we had meet and greets so at the time we went to that and to our amazement again we were taken to the Tparty room, but this time it wasnt downsized. It was the real thing, with the bear from Valentines Day, the food, the curtains..everything! When it was our turn we walked into the room and Taylor RAN up to us and said "LOOK AT YOUR OUTFITS, you guys are incredible, you guys ALWAYS look amazing. I love you!!" I hugged her, told her I had missed her and we showed her our banner, which she found hilarious. We then talked about a friend we had previously made before through her and how we were all close. She told us we were so sweet and that she loved us so very much. We got our picture and then spoke about her returning to the UK. Then, again, Lauren had to stop us and we were ushered out. Not before however a huge huge hugging reunion. I told taylor we would be in the pit and she said she would look out for us. We walked out, so happy that she had remembered us! We were on cloud nine, however it was all about to get even better.
If you've seen the tour you will know that before story of us taylor introduces herself and talks about all the stories in the room. It was here that she decided to turn around and say "& I can see the two girls in the pit, who I first met when I was in the UK!" I'm pretty sure my knees buckled and I burst into tears. Those words continue to save me right now. They give me hope. They let me know that for a moment Taylor thought about Steph and I whilst on stage in her current hometown. I will never be able to thank her enough.
I saw the tour out with Steph in MSG in november and Taylor also saw us there, another long story, which I won't go into however, 2011 was the best year of my entire life. These stories get me through the bad days. I'm sorry if I bored you with my rambling, but if you have read these, I hope you enjoyed them and know that if you havent yet met Taylor, your time will come & it will be perfect and how it is meant to be. Never ever give up hope! :)
