Tutorial #1; Blending Images
In this tutorial, I will be teaching you how to blend two or more images together like this: (It's a sig I made for a request in my shop)


1. Open up your pictures in photoshop. I'll be using these pictures: [x] and [x]
2. Crop your pictures, the crop button looks like this:
To crop your pictures, just enter the size you want your end result to be in the fields as shown here:
*Make sure to add "px" after your numer, also shown above.
3. Drag the layer of the picture you want to be blended into the other picture(s) onto the other picture. I know it sounds confusing and it was when I first started but it's shown in this GIF:

4. Beside the picture, there's a box that looks like this:

Click the drop down menu and select either "Lighten" or "Screen". Those are the settings I use the most but you can play around with other ones.
5. Move around the picture to your liking, in this case, I moved it a little to the left and erased some of the excess of the second picture.
6. And voila! You will get something like this: (without the watermark, haha)

7. I added a coloring, sharpened it a bit, and added a texture in the example in the beginning of this post but you don't have to.

Tutorial 2: Cutting Images (version 1)
There are two versions on how I cut my images, this is the one I use for cutting out images with lots of flyaways and hair like Taylor's.

1. Open up your picture in photoshop, I'll be using this one: [x] Apply any colorings, and sharpen as you'd like.
2. Select the "Quick Selection Tool" it looks like this:
3. Make sure your settings in the top left corner looks like this: (the brush size would depend on your picture)

4. Begin selecting Taylor very roughly like this:

5. When you're finished, it should look like this:

6. Then, click on the "Refine Edge" button:

7. A window should pop up, select "Black and white" from the drop down menu like this:

In the "Edge Detection" box, change the radius to about 30-40, or whatever looks better with your picture.
8. Then, from the drop down menu again, select "On Black" and in the "Output" box, check "Decontaminate Colors" and change the Amount to about 90-100. From the drop down menu below that, select Output to: New layer.
9. And there you have it! You just need to add a background. You should end up with something like this:
